Pictures from my visit:

The Ramada in Cekirge is a comfortable, centrally located hotel in the Bursa hillside. My experience was overall quite positive and enjoyable.

The positives:

From the very start, the staff were friendly and helpful. They made sure to explain general details of the hotel amenities and escorted me to my room. When I asked for a recommendation for a dinner location, the front desk provided several options in the heart of downtown. Since I wanted to stay local and see Çekirge neighborhood, I headed out on my own with a desire for a delicious Turkish dinner. Seeing raindrops, I headed back to my room to get my umbrella, but was intercepted by an attendant, determined that I use his. After a few minutes walking, I found a delicious experience of Bursa kebab döner at Durak Muhallebicisi. Much to my satisfaction, I ate the traditional shaved meat on top of warmed pita bread, spread with tomato sauce and butter and finished my meal with a cup of tea as the steady trickle of patrons came and went. Although it didn’t rain until my last steps approaching the hotel, I was grateful for the umbrella loan and the attendant that offered it.

The morning breakfast was satisfactory. There was a variety of fresh fruits and vegetable along with cheeses, eggs, and breads. It was a typical Turkish hotel breakfast. The dining area offered plenty of seating and did not feel crowded or claustrophobic.

The hotel facilities were clean and modern. The do not disturb functionality has been modernized to be a switch on the wall by the door and also by the bed for convenience. I used both the exercise room and the Turkish bath and found these areas to be well maintained and staffed for any guests’ needs. Storage closets/changing/shower rooms are available for men and women separately but the Turkish bath is not segregated for men or women but unisex.

The negatives:

The shower had a strange window to see in/out of into the rest of the room. The knob to turn the faucet water to overhead and viceaversa was broken and only shower functionality was an option. There were two shower heads, one hand wand and one fastened overhead. The overhead shower head was not working properly, but was still functional. Water pressure was therefore lacking but once they get that fixed, I’m sure that the room will be up to the hotel staff’s and future guest’s desires.

A note for families:

Baby cribs and high chairs were available and the general area of the hotel grounds were accommodating to strollers. While my room did not offer an extra bed or sofa for children, the room was spacious and could fit one if requested.

Overall, my stay at Ramada Bursa Çekirge was a peaceful and pleasant. I easily offer my recommendation for it as an excellent option for your visit to our lovely city.
