When I asked if I could snap her picture, she warmly agreed. “Lots of people like to take my picture,” she said. “I walked into a place one day in Bursa and I was surprised to see a picture of me hanging on the wall!” It’s not hard to see why she catches the attention of photographers—her simple yet skillful work combined with her pleasant demeanor reveals something special about the peaceful modesty of Turkish village life.
